Porsche Taycan Reviews

product testers jobs

The Porsche Taycan EV is a forward-looking vehicle that is undoubtedly one of the best on the market. The Taycan's bold design is complimented by a comfortable and engaging interior, providing an electric vehicle experience rivaling Tesla's Model S.

This all-electric SUV makes a great choice for people who want an EV with exceptional driving dynamics and speed. However, the range is not as good as that of some of its competition. The Taycan does, however, offer super-fast charging capability, which can help overcome the mediocre range.

It's a compact, stylish and swift EV. It's also very enjoyable to drive. While the Taycan isn’t as comfortable than some of its competition, it’s quieter on the road which makes it ideal to drive long distances.

Inside, the Taycan has a replete array of screens that control everything from the instrument panel to the infotainment system. There are two touchscreens within the center console: one 8.4-inch screen in front and another touch-sensitive display facing the driver's chair.

Specs and Features

The standard equipment list is pretty minimal, but the Taycan comes with everything from satellite navigation to smartphone mirroring. You can upgrade to a Bose audio system with 14 speakers. Those upgrades cost $2840.

Stylish and authentic

The Porsche Taycan is designed so that it looks like other Porsche models. It's a sleek, wind-cheating design that's distinctive from other vehicles on the road, which means it's likely to attract attention bystanders who see it out and about.

It's also a safe ride, which is important for anyone who wants to buy an electric SUV. Euro NCAP gave the Taycan a five-star safety rating. ANCAP has yet to ratify this score.

The Taycan is an excellent choice if you are looking for a luxury electric vehicle that's affordable. Although the Taycan is relatively new in this segment of battery-powered performance cars, it has quickly established itself as a leader.

In our tests it was able surpass the Tesla Model S. It can also out-accelerate the Lucid Air GT. The asking price for this unit is up to twice the amount.

Torque and Power

The dual-motor setup of the engine produces a staggering 570 horsepower. This is enough to propel it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds to a top speed at 250km/h. It's more powerful than some rivals' 370hp, but not as fast as the 520hp in the Nissan EQS and the Tesla Model S's 550hp.

It's still a very impressive figure in terms of acceleration and a major deal for Porsche which is putting its trust on its EV line.

Comfortable and reliable

The Taycan seats provide spirited driving with firm but not overwhelming support. They provide excellent support for the back and are well bolstered.

The Taycan's replete screen ecosystem is a big part of its appeal, as are its class-leading steering and brakes. This combination makes it feel like a sports car. The Taycan, with its outstanding handling and amazing agility, is the perfect combination of comfort and performance that Porsche has long sought with their internal-combustion cars.
