ME to WE
metowe is a for-profit company that offers a variety of lifestyle products as well as travel experiences. Their mission is to change the world by empowering people. They partner with communities in Kenya, Ecuador and India to provide opportunities for youth and families to improve their lives.
ME to WE Trips Cost
The WE Charity website offers trips that allow North Americans to "step into Maasai warlords" in Kenya, or go on a "shamanic ceremony" and learn weapons techniques in Ecuador. They include tours to an agricultural learning centre, a jungle hike or canoe ride and work on development projects.
ME to We Youth Trips
The ME to WE Youth Trip allows young travelers to get to know the people and communities of WE Charity, a TreadRight supported charity. These young travelers will work with local community members to build schools and clean water systems. They also participate in interactive leadership development workshops.
Numerous WE Day events around the globe, including those in Vancouver and Calgary, were tagged with hashtags that related to cities (#wedayvancouver, #yyc) or specific WE events. This is evidence of poor urban-based education programming. These concerts-style experiences are great fun for students. But, the cohashtag graphic shows that these programs promote privilege hierarchies that were previously not recognized in Canada.
